Based on real events, the story revolves around the capture of the ruthless serial killer Peter Sutcliffe, dubbed the Yorkshire Ripper, who committed his crimes between 1975 and 1981. It later became known that he had 13 female victims.

The series focuses not on the personality of the maniac, but on the work of law enforcement officers who did everything possible to put the criminal behind bars as soon as possible. However, despite the evidence and testimonies of the girls who managed to escape the pursuer, the law enforcement system of 1970s England had its flaws, and sometimes investigators made grievous mistakes, prolonging the process.
