3 New Mini-Series of 2024 for Fans of Complex Detective Stories

If you enjoy gripping series about unraveling intricate crimes and catching perpetrators, this selection will certainly delight you with intriguing plots and interesting stories, some of which are inspired by real life. Brilliant detective work reminiscent of Agatha Christie, captivating deductions involving logic, and unexpected plot twists—all of this will keep the audience on the edge of their seats from beginning to end.

In the Stern family, two mysterious murders occur. Bereaved widow Maya Stern cannot come to terms with the death of her husband, Joe, but one day she sees him on a surveillance camera footage installed in the nursery, realizing that the man is alive, but perhaps has reasons to hide. Now she has to figure out what’s going on.

Maya’s nieces, teenagers Abby and Daniel, who recently experienced the murder of their mother, are also seeking answers. They see a connection between these two cases. Meanwhile, Sergeant Sami Kierce is investigating Joe’s murder, simultaneously dealing with his own personal secrets.

Based on real events, the story revolves around the capture of the ruthless serial killer Peter Sutcliffe, dubbed the Yorkshire Ripper, who committed his crimes between 1975 and 1981. It later became known that he had 13 female victims.

The series focuses not on the personality of the maniac, but on the work of law enforcement officers who did everything possible to put the criminal behind bars as soon as possible. However, despite the evidence and testimonies of the girls who managed to escape the pursuer, the law enforcement system of 1970s England had its flaws, and sometimes investigators made grievous mistakes, prolonging the process.

Darby Hart was born into a coroner’s family and has been fascinated by crime investigations since childhood. Eventually, she became an amateur detective, hunting down a mysterious serial killer with her friend Bill Farrah, and also released her true-crime book.

After the book’s release, Darby is contacted by IT genius and millionaire Andy Ronson, who invites her to his residence in the snowy wilderness of Iceland, where other famous people are also invited. But soon one of the guests mysteriously dies from a morphine overdose—there’s no doubt it was murder, and the killer is nearby. Now Darby has the opportunity to showcase her detective talent.
